Provost Jayanth Banavar has announced the formation of a task force to analyze the structure of the UO’s College of Arts and Sciences.
Specifically, the task force will be asked to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of potential structures for the three divisions of humanities, social sciences and natural sciences.
“Analyzing the structure of CAS is both timely and necessary, but it must be done with care and deliberation,” Banavar said. “As is the case in many situations, whenever there is a change in leadership, it marks an opportunity to examine how things are done and whether there are changes that could benefit the organization.”
An outline of the task force’s charge and timeline can be found in the current initiatives on the provost’s website.
