The Danish Institute for Study Abroad’s architecture and design program has given awards to three UO students this summer for their work while studying in Copenhagen.
UO architecture students Lisa Hartanov, Jiawei (Vincent) Mai and Natalie Joy Nicholson were honored from the 174 American university students also participating in the study abroad program.
Hartanov, a graduate student focusing on interior architecture, was awarded the Design Excellence Award for her work in the interior architecture studio. Mai, an undergraduate architecture student, also received the Design Excellence Award for his work. As an undergraduate interior architecture student, Nicholson earned the Kaare Klint Special Award for her work in the metal furniture studio.
UO School of Architecture and Allied Arts professor Alison Snyder, director of the interior design program, said the recognition is a “wonderful validation of how our students excel in group settings.”
