UO community asked to give input on heating system project

University of Oregon faculty members, staff and students are invited to review the presentation about transforming the Eugene heating system and complete a survey by Friday, Jan. 26.

The thermal study presentation, given at two forums on Monday, Jan. 22, outlines the work of the Thermal Systems Task Force over the past year and describes options identified to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions of the Eugene campus heating system.

The task force, comprised of board members, faculty and employee experts, and students, is seeking feedback on its draft recommendations from the UO community through a brief online survey as it evaluates the options available to the university. The input will be considered as the task force finalizes its recommendation to President Karl Scholz on Thursday, Feb. 1.

The goal is to recommend a system that meets resiliency and reliability standards, achieves science-based emissions reduction targets, improves efficiency and is fiscally responsible.
