Yes, the UO might have ranked in the top 20 party schools in the nation, but don’t worry mom, we’re tops in healthy fun too.
Although the Princeton Review recently proclaimed that the mighty Ducks throw mighty parties, The Active Times has ranked UO as number 30 on their list of the 50 fittest colleges in the United States. Active Times writer Catarina Cowden pointed to the UO’s bike friendly attitude, noting that “over 6,500 students, staff, and faculty members riding their bikes to campus every day.”
The Active Times might never have visited Eugene in the winter, however, when rain proves detrimental to cycling activities and some students go into hibernation mode. But Cowden also referenced the UO Outdoor Program’s mountain biking, stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking and hiking events.
It should be noted that the University of Washington ranks 15 places below the UO, and Oregon State University did not place.
