UO creative writing professor Ehud Havazelet, a celebrated writer and acclaimed teacher, died Nov. 5. He was 60.
Havazelet joined the UO faculty in 1999, was a two-time Oregon Book Award winner and was awarded the Whiting Writers Award and the Pushcart Prize. He received Guggenheim and Rockefeller fellowships and is remembered as a valued colleague who generously shared his time and talents with students.
