This summer, the University of Oregon will be hosting the Association of Pacific Rim Universities’ Undergraduate Leadership Program. The program will bring together 53 undergraduate students from 29 universities throughout the Pacific Rim.

Facilitated by the Division of Global Engagement and Division of Undergraduate Education and Student Success, the theme of this year’s program is “Fresh Approaches to a Gordian Knot: Student Leaders Untangle Pacific Rim Environment, Health and Inequality Challenges.” The program will focus on three major challenges for global communities: environmental degradation, public health and social inequality.

“We are excited to welcome these impressive students from around the Pacific Rim to the University of Oregon campus,” said Dennis Galvan, dean and vice provost for the Division of Global Engagement. “This program is an excellent opportunity for UO to showcase what we do best: high-impact, experiential learning designed to develop the next generation of global problem solvers.”

The program will be on campus July 1-12.
