UO postdoctoral researcher Twila Moon says she was known as an inspector while growing up in Montana. Today, she is investigating how climate change is impacting the ice sheets of Greenland and Antarctica.

Her research is being profile in a series of stories by Explore Big Sky, a newspaper published in her hometown of Big Sky, Montana.

“I’ve always liked studying the earth,” Moon told the newspaper. “Glaciers and ice sheets are changing now, and impacting the earth now. It’s really exciting to me.”

Moon is at the UO, working alongside David Sutherland, assistant professor and oceanographer in the Department of Geological Sciences. She is funded by a National Science Foundation fellowship. She is back on campus after a trip to the Juneau Icefield in Alaska.
