The University of Oregon Senate is accepting nominations for its annual leadership and service awards through noon Friday, April 10.
The five awards will be presented during a formal ceremony at the June 3 meeting of the University Senate.
The awards are:
- UO Senate Award for Shared Governance, Transparency and Trust is given to an administrator or member of the UO community who has best exemplified these principles over the past year.
- Wayne T. Westling Award is the highest award the University Senate gives and is named in honor of Wayne T. Westling, UO professor of law from 1979-2001. It is given to a faculty or staff member for outstanding and long-term leadership and service to the university.
- UO Senate Classified Staff Leadership Award recognizes a classified employee who is a leader in one or more of these areas — personal and professional development, a respectful work environment or diversity.
- UO Senate Leadership and Service Award for Officers of Administration recognizes the outstanding leadership and exemplary service of an OA over a period of years.
- Lyllye Reynolds-Parker Award for Student Mentoring and Support, a new category last year, recognizes individuals who exemplify exceptional mentorship by creating a supportive, inclusive environment and encouraging students to reach their fullest potential.
Members of the campus community may submit nominations for any of the awards. Nominations should be sent to senatecoordinator@uoregon.edu. Instructions about who is eligible and what to include with the nominations are located on the senate awards website. The 2025 recipients are also listed.
