The University of Oregon Olympic Studies Hub is coordinating the week of activities showcasing the scholarship, programs and research taking place on campus related to human performance and sport within the context of the Olympics. The events are open to faculty and staff. Visit the UO Olympic Studies Week website for a complete schedule and participation information.
UO community members may attend many of the events, including an academic symposium and an industry session. Professors and instructors are incorporating lessons and research into their courses, as well as hosting guest speakers, to explore topics related to Olympic studies. A variety of activities are offered in person, some with streaming options. Tours of Hayward Hall, the UO Libraries Olympics History Archives and the Oregon Performance Research Lab are also planned. These tours require RSVPs and have limited capacity.
UO employees who wish to participate should request time off through their department’s regular process and coordinate their request with their supervisor. Attendance at the events is optional.
The University of Oregon launched the Olympic Studies Hub in December of 2024 at the Lundquist College of Business. It is the only U.S. member of the worldwide network of academic Olympic Studies and Research Centres dedicated to the study and research of the Olympic movement and Olympic Games.
