A full-day symposium to explore conversations about race and systemic injustice will take place Saturday, Jan. 29 at the University of Oregon.
“What’s up with Whiteness?” will help participants find their place in these conversations by examining their identities and the systems they are part of to become more effective allies in their communities. Participants will explore white identity through an overview of terms and definitions, historical context, and reflection.
The event – a collaboration between the Deconstructing Whiteness Working Group and the Women’s Center BIWOC Allyship Symposium – is open to UO students, staff and faculty members.
Lunch will be provided. Registration is required.
