Lananna offers free coaching to help get Oregon on the fitness track

You don’t have to be an Olympic runner to get some gold-medal coaching at the UO.

In fact, Vin Lananna is giving it away for free. Just show up Sunday mornings at Hayward Field and take Lananna up on his offer of complimentary coaching for runners of all ages and abilities, a kind of homage to the community jogging clinics put on by the legendary Bill Bowerman 50 years ago.

Follow the flight of Duck Nation as students wing their way to campus

If they actually had wings, all the Ducks taking flight for Eugene would make an awesome sound.

What they do have, though, is cars and trucks and station wagons loaded with boxes and ready for a road trip, or luggage packed for a flight. At the end of all those roads is the University of Oregon.

We’ve asked students to document their journeys to campus through social media, a way of leaving a set of virtual tracks marking the road that leads to a new year at the UO. Scroll down to follow along.

Welcome — and welcome back — Ducks!
