A search committee has been formed to seek and evaluate candidates to serve as the University of Oregon's next Faculty Athletic Representative, who will act as an advocate for UO student athletes and for academic integrity.

Suggestions must be received by the committee by April 10.

Judy Newman, co-director of the Early Childhood CARES program in the UO's College of Education, was recognized for her community service work at Tuesday night's United Way Community Celebration.

Newman was presented the local United Way organization's second annual Community Voice Award for her work as an advocate for the annual charitable fund drive.

The University of Oregon Senate is encouraging nominations for three upcoming awards, with all submissions due today (Feb. 28).

The three awards are the Senate Classified Staff Leadership Award, the Senate Leadership and Service award for Officers of Administration, and the Wayne T. Westling Award for University Leadership and Service.
