The UO’s EMU amphitheater will once again serve as the launching point for the 37th annual Take Back the Night protest march, an annual international event that draws attention to the realities of sexual violence.
The rally begins at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 30, and marchers will leave the amphitheater at 7 p.m. They will then march to downtown Eugene, gathering at the Atrium Building at the corner of 10th Avenue and Olive Street for a speak-out featuring survivors of sexual assault.
On June 15, several thousand UO students will be students no more.
Or at the least, they won't be undergraduates any more. Many will continue their academic adventure in graduate school, many others will move on to the first phase of their professional careers. Wherever they go, we wish them well.
The Craft Center was the first relocated program to open in a new space as the Erb Memorial Union undergoes expansion.
Just as Ducks were able to spray paint, graffiti and take sledge hammers to the old Erb Memorial Union before it was demolished, students and faculty will have the opportunity to leave their lasting mark on the new EMU.
Tuesday, April 28, marks a significant milestone for the EMU renovation and expansion project. The final — and highest — beam of the new EMU will be set in place, effectively “topping out” the upward construction process.
The week-long festival will show new films from UO faculty and alumni and highlight international cinema.
The event will honor the 147 students who were massacred at a school earlier this month.
