Recipients of UO’s most generous merit grant featured in Oregonian

The six new University of Oregon Stamps Scholars were featured Tuesday on OregonLive, the online version of The Oregonian. The high school seniors are among the top students in the state and will enroll this fall at the UO.

The Stamps Scholarship is the most prestigious and generous merit award from the University of Oregon. It provides tuition, room and board, and access to an enrichment fund that helps students pursue study abroad, internships and other experiences, and is renewable for four years.

Volunteers needed for second round of meningitis vaccine clinics

Volunteers are needed to help with the second in a series of meningitis vaccine clinics being held on the UO campus to inoculate students against the potentially deadly infection.

The next clinic will be May 12-14 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Matthew Knight Arena. Students will be given the second in a series of three shots with the Trumenba vaccine.

Volunteers are needed for three daily shifts: 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. People are urged to sign up for one or more shifts.

‘Conference of Champions’ highlights Pac-12 students’ academic success

Chase Salazar, a University of Oregon chemistry student, will be featured on “Conference of Champions,” a one-hour special that premiered Sunday, May 3 on the Pac-12 Networks.

The show follows a student from each of the 12 conference schools to show how a unique collegiate experience shapes their personal stories and career aspirations. Faculty members and university leaders – including UO Interim President Scott Coltrane – offer further insight into what sets each campus apart, delving into the unique history, ideals and tradition that defines their institution.
