Frances Bronet, acting senior vice president and provost, has selected a temporary leader to serve as acting dean in the UO School of Architecture and Allied Arts.
In a memo to the campus community issued Friday, Aug. 15, Bronet wrote that “my temporary assignment cannot inhibit the upward trajectory of the School of Architecture and Allied Arts. Brook Muller, associate dean for academic affairs, has agreed to fill the critical role of acting dean. We will rely on his dedication, commitment to innovation, and judicious leadership during this upcoming year.”
Muller is a Department of Architecture faculty member in the environmental studies program and director of the graduate certificate program in ecological design.
Bronet also noted her enthusiasm for her new role and for working with interim President Scott Coltrane.
“Scott Coltrane is a scholar and a generous leader,” Bronet wrote. “He understands the university at many, many levels. When he approached me about potentially serving in this role, I was deeply moved. I was being presented with an opportunity to work alongside a leader whom I truly admire, one who acts with intelligence and integrity.”
