After becoming just the fifth player in NCAA history to reach 500 rebounds in a single-season, standout sophomore Jillian Alleyne was given honorable mention All-America honors by the Associated Press, the organization announced on Tuesday.

Alleyne is the first Oregon women's basketball player to receive All-America consideration since Shaquala Williams was also an honorable mention pick in 2002.

The Fontana, Calif., native is the sixth Duck to earn All-America honors, joining Williams (1999, 2000 and 2002), Natalie Hughes (1998), Arianne Boyer (1997), Sally Crowe (2995) and Bev Smith (1981 and 1982).

Alleyne led the nation in rebounds per game (16.8) and double-doubles (29) this season.

The sophomore's rebounds per game average (16.8), her total rebounds (519) and her 29 double-doubles broke both the Oregon and Pac-12 single-season records. Her total of 519 rebounds is the fifth most in NCAA history and her 29 double-doubles is the seventh most.

Alleyne also scored 684 total points, good for the third most in UO single-season history.

Of her 29 double-doubles, she had 18 in a row, which tied Cheryl Miller for the fourth longest streak in NCAA history.

Alleyne also broke the school records for free throws made and attempted this season.
