After standout performances against Washington State and Washington, Oregon sophomore Jillian Alleyne was named the Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Week, the U.S. Basketball Writers Association announced on Tuesday. 

To qualifty a player has to win her conference player of the week as well. Alleyne was named Pac-12 Player of the Week on Monday. 

She is the first Pac-12 Conference player to earn the award this season. 

This is the first time an Oregon player has won the USBWA's weekly award since it was first started for the 2012-13 season, along with the USBWA's National Player of the Year award. Both awards were named for former Hall of Famer former UCLA All-American Ann Meyers Drysdale. 

The USBWA has been naming a postseason All-America team since the 1987-88 season.

Alleyne, who entered last weekend leading the nation with 14.7 rebounds per game and 15 and double-doubles, bettered both numbers against the Cougars and Huskies.

The sophomore forward went off for 21 points, 19 rebounds and four blocks against Washington State in an 82-66 win on Jan. 24 before posting a dominating 34 points and 25 rebounds with a career-high five assists and three more blocks on Jan. 26 in a 101-85 win over Washington.

Alleyne continues to lead the nation, averaging 15.5 rebounds per game with 17 double-doubles. She is tied for second in the Pac-12, averaging 21.4 points per game.

Alleyne and the Ducks visit Arizona and Arizona State this weekend before returning to Eugene for a four-game homestand.
