The 29th annual Kinsman Bioethics Conference will take place April 11 and 12 in downtown Eugene.
The event takes place in a different city each year to reach scholars from around the state who are working in medical sciences, bioengineering and ethics. It will be held at the Hotel Eugene, formerly the Eugene Hilton, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
The University of Oregon, PeaceHealth Oregon and Oregon Health & Science University joined together to put on the event, the largest bioethics conference in Oregon.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Raising Voices: The Ethics of Dialogue and Communication in Health Care.” It will feature breakout sessions on a variety of topics, including race, gender, and cultural and generational issues in health care.
Keynote speaker Autumn Fiester, director of clinical conflict management at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine, will speak about her experience resolving ethical conflicts in health care.
Attendees can register for each session online. Registration will be open from 7:30 to 8 a.m. both days and the required registration fee is $220. For more information, visit OHSU’s Kinsman Bioethics Conference webpage.
