The Undergraduate Studies Division is accepting applications for the Global Scholars Hall resident scholar – an opportunity for a faculty member to live among students in the university’s newest residence hall.
The deadline to apply is Thursday, May 1.
The resident scholar will provide support, in both formal and informal settings, to students living in the Global Scholars Hall. The position is designed to help shape the intellectual life of students by promoting a general culture of inquiry and thoughtful debate.
The scholar in residence will help organize extracurricular activities and events to support academic components of university courses and will facilitate faculty interaction with students.
The scholar will live in an apartment in the Global Scholars Hall. The apartment is available year round, and the scholar will need to move in before the start of fall term to take part in residence hall staff training.
Potential applicants must have a faculty appointment and academic department affiliation at the UO. Preference will be given to individuals recognized for both scholarship and teaching and those with practical experience designing and leading academic programs for undergraduates.
See the official job announcement for more information.
Applications should include a current CV and a letter detailing interest for the position and applicable experience. Applications should be submitted to Lisa Freinkel, vice provost for undergraduate studies, 372 Oregon Hall, or ckraus@uoregon.edu
