Are you prepared for the spring break power outages?

UO Campus Planning and Facilities Management is preparing for an upcoming utility maintenance and testing project, which will entail short, staggered power outages in most buildings on the UO campus during spring break.

The project will take place on the mornings of Monday, March 23, and Tuesday, March 24.

If you have concerns about effects to your equipment or daily operations from the outages, please complete this continuity survey.

Safety and Risk Services is collecting information on potential campus issues with the survey and can help respondents connect with the resources or support they need to plan for the outages. For example, members of the campus community have come forward with concerns about high-value research or supplies currently stored in basic refrigerators.

Safety and Risk Services is tracking equipment in different buildings and how long it can be offline without putting valuable research or supplies at risk. That will allow for potential mitigation efforts on the days of the outages if power restoration takes longer than expected.

REMINDER: This critical maintenance project calls for staggered, 15-minute outages that will affect one feeder, and the buildings it powers, at a time on the morning of Monday, March 23. On Tuesday, March 24, all power to campus will be shut off for under five minutes. Click here for a complete schedule and list of buildings affected both days.
