Brenner tabbed as second team All-American

Oregon volleyball junior Liz Brenner was named a second team AVCA All-American, Wednesday. It is the second All-American honor for Brenner, who was named to the second team in 2012 as well.

Brenner was Oregon’s top offensive threat and led the Pac-12 with 4.67 kills/set, a mark that ranks ninth in the nation. She was also a key component in the Ducks’ defense with 3.15 digs/set, second on the team. During the team’s last match at Nebraska, Brenner jumped to fourth in the Oregon record book with 547.5 points this season. The junior also registered 514 kills this season, eighth best all-time.

Brenner is one of seven players to be named to an All-America team in Oregon history, tallying a total of 11 selections.

The Portland, Ore., native was named to the All-Pacific North Region and All-Pac-12 Teams earlier this season.

The Ducks finished the season with a 20-12 record after falling to Nebraska in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Oregon has now finished with three-straight 20-win seasons.
