The campus community is invited to a virtual town hall Dec. 7

University of Oregon students, faculty and staff are invited to attend a virtual town hall meeting focused on winter term instruction and operations, as well as continued efforts to prevent and respond to COVID-19.

The Winter Term Virtual Town Hall is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 7.

President Michael H. Schill announced in October that the winter 2021 term at the UO will would remain a mix of in person, remote and hybrid instruction. The first week of classes will be all remote to accommodate the need for residence hall students testing prior to attending class.

The town hall will include Schill, Provost Patrick Phillips and several other UO staff members. In addition, Dr. Patrick Luedtke, the Lane County Public Health senior public health officer, has also agreed to participate to answer questions related to public health efforts to address COVID-19 in partnership with the UO. A student employee from the UO’s Corona Corp team will also join the panel to talk about contact tracing and efforts to limit the spread of the virus.

UO community members can watch the town hall via livestream. Campus community members are encouraged to submit questions in advance through an anonymous web form. Email questions can also be submitted in advance or during the live event to townhall@uoregon.edu.
