The No. 1-ranked Oregon softball team looks to extend its 12-game winning streak this weekend as the team nears the end of the regular season. Boasting a 46-5 record, the Ducks close out the regular season home schedule with a crucial three-game set against No. 3 Arizona State.
The series begins on Friday, May 2, at 5 p.m., followed by Saturday’s game at 4 p.m. The series concludes on Sunday at 2 p.m., when Courtney Ceo, Alexa Peterson and Kailee Cuico will be honored before first pitch for senior day. Fans will also get the chance to preview the 2014 Oregon football team on Saturday at the annual Spring Game at Autzen Stadium. Gates open at 10 a.m. and the two-hour scrimmage begins at 11 a.m. Admission to the Bi-Mart Spring Game, presented by Oregon Community Credit Union, is three non-perishable food items that will be donated to Food for Lane County. At last year’s Spring Game, more than 65,000 pounds of food were collected, in addition to $1,650 in donations.
The Spring Game will also serve as a tribute to the nation’s armed services for the fifth year in a row. Ceremonies and festivities during halftime and postgame will honor various branches of the military. With only nine regular season home games remaining, the Oregon baseball team will be in action at PK Park this weekend against Arizona. First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday’s game will start at 3 p.m. following the spring game.
