Jamie Moffitt, vice president for finance and administration, sent the following message to university academic and administrative leadership announcing that Nancy Resnick, the university’s chief human resources officer, is leaving the UO to lead human resources at the University of California, San Diego:
Dear Colleagues,
It is always bittersweet to announce that a wonderful colleague has decided to take on a new leadership role at another institution. For the last three years, Nancy Resnick has led the University of Oregon’s Human Resources department through very significant organizational, technological, policy and culture change. Nancy has shared with me that she will be leaving the University of Oregon in order to assume the Chief Human Resources Officer role at the University of California San Diego. Please join me in congratulating Nancy on this exciting career opportunity. Nancy has connected deeply with many across campus. Her strategic leadership and thoughtful interpersonal skills and communication style will be greatly missed.
Going forward, I have asked Kaia Rogers, Senior Director of Human Resources Programs, Services and Strategic Initiatives, and Missy Matella, Senior Director of Employee and Labor Relations to jointly assume leadership of the Human Resources department. Kaia will be overseeing operations in HR programs and services, as well as HR operations and talent acquisition, while Missy will continue to oversee all employee and labor relations issues and initiatives. Nancy will be actively working with Kaia, Missy and the entire HR team through June to ensure a smooth leadership transition. In the coming months, we will launch a national search for a new Chief Human Resources Officer.
Please join me in congratulating Nancy and wishing her the best.
Jamie Moffitt
Vice President for Finance and Administration
