The University of Oregon is in active negotiations with employee unions to reach new collective bargaining agreements. The following updates are offered to keep the campus community informed:

United Academics:The university and United Academics have held six bargaining sessions as they work to negotiate the terms of a new collective bargaining agreement.

The human resources website provides updates on the negotiations. The latest update includes the following information about UA proposals submitted thus far and the university’s proposals:

• Estimated costs of UA proposals would exceed $140 million.
• UO has presented proposals that align with the university’s bargaining principles of faculty support, equity and inclusion.
• UA has presented nearly all of its 38 proposals, which include changes to 23 articles and the introduction of nine new articles.

The current agreement ends June 30. Bargaining will continue weekly through winter and spring terms.

University of Oregon Police Association:The university and the UO Police Association held their second bargaining session in February. The parties are expected to present all opening proposals by mid March. The next bargaining session is scheduled for March 12.

The bargaining teams will continue to meet periodically throughout winter and spring terms in their efforts to establish terms for a new collective bargaining agreement. The current agreement expires June 30.
