Other events coming soon to campus include a lecture on how social media is changing art museums, a jazz performance, a flute concert to benefit a local charity, and a two-day conference hosted by the UO Center for Equity Promotion.
LECTURES
- Kim Sheehan, PhD., from the UO SOJC will present a lecture titled, “Sustainability and Marketing: the Greenwashing Index” on Thursday, April 24. The lecture will be held in the Lillis Business Complex, Chiles 128 from 2-3:30 p.m.
- On Monday, April 28, a 22 year-old guest speaker will share her story as a local sex trafficking survivor. The presentation will be held from 6-7 p.m. in the Lillis Business Complex, Room 175.
- On Tuesday, April 29, a lecture titled, "Art in the Age of Instagram: Social Media at the Guggenheim Museum" will be presented by JiaJia Fei, Digital Marketing Manager at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. The event will be held in Lawrence Hall, Room 115 from 5:30-7 p.m.
EXHIBITIONS
- An opening reception will be held on Friday, April 25, for the exhibit, “The Human Touch: Selections from the RBC Wealth Management Art Collection.” The reception will run from 5-8 p.m. at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art.
MUSIC
- On Friday, April 25, the UO Jazz Combos will perform in downtown Eugene at The Jazz Station at 5:30 p.m.
- On Sunday, April 27, UO flutist Molly Barth and her students will present a fundraising concert to benefit FOOD for Lane County. The admission fee is a suggested donation of non-perishable food items. The concert will be held at 3 p.m. at the Museum of Natural and Cultural History.
EVENTS
- The Oregon MBA Net Impact Chapter will host representatives of several local companies that demonstrate social and environmental responsibility at an Earth Day Event on Thursday, April 24, from noon to 3:30 p.m. in the Lillis Atrium. The companies will be invited to showcase their environmental practices. MBA students are also invited to a brunch prior to the event to meet with company representatives from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in Room 440 of the Lillis Business Complex.
- On Friday, April 25 from 4-7 p.m., a Civil War Shark Tank will be held at the Ford Alumni Center. The event is an undergraduate business pitching competition between UO and OSU students. Tickets are available online here.
- On Monday, April 28 and Tuesday, April 29, the UO Center for Equity Promotion will host a two-day conference called “Strong Global Communities: International Conference on Prevention Implementation.”
