Starting next week, University of Oregon employees can pick up two free face masks on campus. This initial distribution will focus on staff members who are currently working on campus or will be in the near future.
More masks will be distributed in September closer to the start of fall term.
The initial distribution takes place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 26 and 27, outside the Student Recreation Center.
A distribution station will be set up on the east side of the building by the turf fields. Employees who are currently working on campus or will be soon are encouraged to drop by during those times to collect their masks. Employees are asked to bring their UO ID card and wear their own personal face covering when arriving to pick up the new ones.
A second distribution event will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 21 through 25 at the rec center reception desk for all remaining employees.
For employees unable to pick up their masks during these times, units and departments will have a process for requesting additional masks. Employees should check with their supervisor or unit leadership for more information.
Employees at UO Portland and the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology in Charleston should hear more soon about mask distribution at their locations. UO School of Law employees have already been provided masks.
