University of Oregon junior Hroniss Grasu has been selected as one of six finalists for the Rimington Trophy, presented annually to the outstanding center in college football.
Grasu, a first-team all-Pac-12 selection, anchored an offensive line that led the Pac-12 in rushing for the eighth year in row (278.3 avg.), in addition to pacing the league in total offense (573.0) and scoring (46.8).
A three-year starter, Grasu recently announced that he will return to Eugene for his senior year and opt against declaring early for the 2014 NFL Draft. Oregon has amassed an overall mark of 34-5 with Grasu snapping, including victories in the 2012 Rose Bowl Game and 2013 Fiesta Bowl.
The winner of the 2013 Rimington Trophy will be announced live during the ESPNU Red Carpet Show on Thursday, immediately preceding the ESPN College Football Awards Show. Both shows will originate from the Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
The No. 10 Ducks (10-2) will finish the 2013 season Dec. 30 vs. Texas (8-4) at the Valero Alamo Bowl in San Antonio, Texas.
