UO crews are still working to clear campus of downed trees and limbs that littered the ground after last week’s severe ice storm.
Campus, which rarely shuts down due to weather, was closed for an unusual two-day stretch as ice-laden branches fell across campus. But dozens of people reported to work and stayed around the clock to keep electricity flowing and limit the hazards from extensive tree damage.
That work is continuing. In the meantime, UO leaders have decided that those who did not report to work over the two-day closure will not have to use vacation or leave time for the missed days. See the message from Associate Vice President for Human Resources Nancy Resnick for more information.
