At the Oct. 10 fall meeting for Officers of Administration, approximately 125 attendees were introduced to the current OA Council members and heard from Jamie Moffitt, vice president for Finance and Administration and chief financial officer, and Margie Paris, law professor and president of the UO Senate.
Moffitt shared information about the financial situation for the university, its budget structure, and how and where funds are being invested currently and in the future. She also discussed governance transition and other initiatives, including a new version of the academic budget model and an expanded focus for the tuition and fees advisory board.
Paris encouraged Officers of Administration to become involved with shared governance, including the many opportunities to participate with UO Senate.
Presentation materials are posted on the OA Council website. The next OA Council meeting is Friday, Nov. 8, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the EMU Umpqua Room.
