UO Libraries and the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art will host two informational sessions for faculty members interested in Mellon fellowship grants.

The grants are intended for faculty members to develop projects that incorporate library and art museum assets into their teaching and research. The sessions will be held March 7 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in museum’s Ford Reception Hall and March 12 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in the Knight Library Browsing Room.

As announced in January, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation awarded the university a $300,000 grant to support enhanced collaboration between the libraries and the art museum. Six fellowship grants will be awarded to UO faculty throughout the initiative’s three-year duration. Three Mellon fellows will be chosen for 2018-19 and three for 2019-20.

Grants will provide integrated library and museum education and support services to help develop and realize the fellows’ projects. Projects may include, but are not limited to, the development and use of new learning objects, exhibitions, publications and digital scholarship projects that focus on collections, expertise and strategic priorities that span both organizations.
