Learn about events coming to the Osher institute this fall

Adult learners interested in attending enriching lectures, courses, discussions and social meetups are invited to expo/open house events at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Oregon this fall.

The Eugene/Springfield location is having an expo Sept. 15 from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Baker Downtown Center, providing information on the latest programs and activities. Meet facilitators and instructors and stay for an 11 a.m. presentation on “What Is OLLI-UO and How Does It Work?”.

Additionally, OLLI-UO in Central Oregon is having an open house Sept. 4 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Larkspur Community Center in Bend.

Osher tai chi class

Emeritus and current faculty from the UO and other universities, professionals from the community, and peer facilitator-leaders are among those who lead classes each term. Whether it’s history and the arts, science and math, languages or international relations and current events, OLLI-UO has a class or group for every interest. As the organizers like to say, come for the classes — stay for the connections.

The expo and open house are free and open to the public. The OLLI-UO program is designed for people 50+ but all ages are welcome.
