A Eugene man was found guilty today (April 30) of sex crimes on the University of Oregon campus last August.
Christopher Warren Mack, 35, will be sentenced on May 2 after being convicted in Lane County Circuit Court on one count of first-degree sexual abuse and two counts each of third-degree sexual abuse and public indecency. The charges stemmed from incidents in the summer of 2012 in which he "groped" UO students on campus.
First-degree sexual abuse carries a mandatory minimum sentence of six years in state prison, under Oregon's Measure 11.
A campus crime alert from August 23, 2012 references the incidents. UOPD and Eugene Police investigated the cases and Springfield Police assisted with Mack's February 6 arrest.
