The registration deadline is May 3 for the 4th Annual UO Alumni Conversations, an opportunity to hear business advice from – and network with – fellow Ducks and friends.
The public event, “Ducks Launching Businesses,” runs from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at the White Stag Block, 70 NW Couch St., Portland.
The UO Career Center hosts a panel discussion that focuses on Ducks launching their own businesses and the paths they followed. University alumni, students and the community are invited to gain insight on launching a business or joining a startup.
The moderator is Linda Williams Favero ’89, program director for UO Alumni Career Services. Panelists include:
Sam Blackman, MBA ’08, CEO and co-founder, Elemental Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of multiscreen video processing solutions.
Abe Choe, ’09, Economics, founder and CEO, Ulife, which provides collegiate licensed merchandise that gives back to students.
Jenelle Isaacson, ’98, Allied Arts, founder and CEO, Living Room Realty, a progressive company that embraces technology and the highest ethical standards in the field.
Erika Welsh, ’13, Environmental Studies and Spanish, co-founder, Wild Friends Foods, formerly Wild Squirrel Nut Butter.
Registration is free to UO students and 2012-2013 graduates; the fee is $10, or $15 after May 3. The event is presented by UO Career Center Portland in collaboration with the UO Alumni Association and Boly:Welch.
