The University of Oregon has scores of facilities and outdoor venues for non-academic activities, and new ones are coming.
Read on for the latest on venues around the UO and tips for scheduling your next event.
Start with Scheduling and Event Services
Scheduling and Event Services schedules for 150 classrooms, roughly 20 outdoor spaces and 30 spaces in and around the Erb Memorial Union.
Just as important: If they don’t run the venue you want, they know who does.
“Start with Scheduling and Event Services,” said Rick Haught, director. “We will send you directly where you’re supposed to go without any guesswork. They’re all our colleagues and we have great relationships with them.”
Call 541-346-6000, visit the Scheduling and Event Services website or contact them online.
Welcome to new venues at the Student Welcome Center
The Student Welcome Center in Unthank Hall is now open for event reservations ranging from intimate meetings to large receptions.
The space includes private suite-style rooms, a spacious lobby for reception-style events and a 150-seat theater featuring a dynamic digital wall for presentations. Learn more about the welcome center and visit the reservation page to submit your request.
Go green (space) north of Unthank Hall
Green space will open this fall between Unthank and the new Oregon beach volleyball courts along East 13th Avenue. The lawn is primarily for resident students but limited reservations will be available.
Reservations will be managed in the same manner as all lawns and classroom spaces controlled by Housing: Connect with Conference and Events Services at conferences@uoregon.edu to inquire about availability. Alternatives may be provided based on planned use and reservations requested beyond the coming term will be placed on a waitlist.
Tap the Black Cultural Center
The Lyllye Reynolds-Parker Black Cultural Center offers event and meeting spaces featuring three reservable venues: the resource room/front room, which accommodates up to 20 guests; the conference room, which seats 8-10; and the multipurpose room, which can host 40-60.
University students, faculty, staff and UO partners are invited to use these spaces for events and gatherings that support and advance the BCC’s mission of empowering Black students through academic achievement, personal growth and cultural enrichment. The BCC welcomes opportunities to foster connection, learning and community while contributing to the cultural vibrancy of the university.
Beginning in August, the BCC will implement a reservation fee for space usage. The center will begin accepting 2026-27 academic year reservation requests in September.
