The future look of Hayward Field comes into even greater focus as the University of Oregon Foundation launches a new website that will house updates on the renovation project.

Anchored by a new architectural rendering, the new site also features a frequently asked questions section, construction timelines and contact information.

Construction is slated to begin in August 2016, with a substantial amount of work completed by May 2017, in time for the NCAA Track and Field Championships.

“We are moving into a very busy time for this project,” said Paul Weinhold, president and CEO of the UO Foundation. “We will spend the next few months working with the university, the city of Eugene and our architect, SRG Partnership, to finalize plans and move rapidly into construction.”

“This is an incredibly exciting project,” said UO President Michael Schill. “The importance of Hayward Field to our university, our community, our state and the sport of track and field cannot be overstated. I’m thrilled with the direction of the renovation and cannot thank the foundation and our generous donors enough for bringing this vision to life.”

This is the first comprehensive renovation of Hayward Field’s facilities since it was constructed in 1919.
