Nominations open for faculty Distinguished Teaching Awards

The university community is invited to submit nominations for the annual Distinguished Teaching Awards, given to faculty members who have shown excellence in teaching.

Faculty, staff, students and alumni are encouraged to advance the names of potential 2015 award recipients. The UO has three teaching awards: the Ersted Award, the Thomas F. Herman Award for Distinguished Teaching and the Thomas F. Herman Award for Excellence in Pedagogy.

The Ersted Award recognizes excellence in teaching by faculty members early in their teaching careers. The Thomas F. Herman Award for Distinguished Teaching is given to faculty members who have demonstrated longstanding excellence in teaching. The Thomas F. Herman Award for Excellence in Pedagogy recognizes senior faculty members who have shown outstanding achievement and expertise in a particular area of teaching.

Nominations are open through Jan. 28 here. For more information, please email teachingawards@uoregon.edu.
