The academic year is off to a running start for officers of administration. From an annual meeting with university leaders, volunteer opportunities and a workplace climate survey, OAs have many ways to get informed and involved.
The annual meeting is Tuesday, Oct. 10, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Ford Alumni Center’s Giustina Ballroom. President Michael Schill and Vice President for Finance and Administration Jamie Moffitt are scheduled to be part of a university leadership panel. Those interested in attending are encouraged to register.
The Officers of Administration Council also is looking for OAs who want to serve on committees or otherwise represent colleagues in university activities.
UO groups typically look for participants who reflect the breadth and diversity of campus, and that includes OAs who can approach issues from the perspective of administrators, supervisors and professionals. The OA Council keeps a running list of OAs who are interested in service and recommends participants upon request every year. OAs who would like to serve should fill out the volunteer form.
The council will launch a workplace climate survey for all OAs on Oct. 3 to gather information about important issues, receive guidance on OA Council priorities and learn what training or professional development would help OAs succeed and support the UO's mission, vision and values.
