Primary documents in the UO Libraries are essential to telling the story of women’s political work in Oregon in the mid-to-late twentieth century.

And a new online finding aid provides access to them.

The UO Libraries Special Collections and University Archives has completed a grant-funded project to process, catalog, and develop online finding aids for the Oregon Women’s Political History Collection.  The collection comprises many individual manuscript collections relating to women’s political and activist work in the twentieth century.

Through technical processing of the collections, cataloging, and publishing finding aids online, grant project staff have now provided access to these collections in Oregon and worldwide. 

The collection was started in the 1990s as a collaborative collection development effort among the UO Libraries, the Center for the Study of Women in Society and the Friends of the Oregon Women’s Political History Collection.

Finding aids to this collection are available online in the Northwest Digital Archives at nwda.orbiscascade.org.
