An online portal is helping new UO faculty members easily find resources and sign up for orientation events.
The Office of the Provost and Academic Affairs developed the site, where new tenure-track and non-tenure-track faculty members can find information about workshops, onboarding events and email lists. Nearly 100 new faculty members will join the university this fall.
“New faculty members need access to the resources that will help them be successful,” said Scott Pratt, executive vice provost for academic affairs. “The site offers a way to connect them with a wide range of opportunities available here at the university.”
The website lists more than a dozen workshops, receptions and orientation events beyond the New Faculty Orientation on Friday, Sept. 15. In addition, the portal includes a collection of email lists that faculty members can join, ranging from teaching and research to community- and center-based lists.
With many activities coming up quickly, new faculty members are encouraged to review the portal and sign up for opportunities soon. The listings will continue to be updated through the end of October, then again in fall 2018.
