Oregon’s seven public universities will join forces at the state Capitol in Salem on Thursday, Feb. 11, for a day of advocacy, engagement and fun.
University Day is a chance for each university to bring students, faculty and alumni together to meet with state legislators and highlight the strengths, needs and opportunities of the state’s institutes of higher education.
The day — featuring representatives from Eastern Oregon University, Oregon Institute of Technology, Oregon State University, Portland State University, Southern Oregon University, University of Oregon and Western Oregon University — will kick off at 7:15 a.m. on the front steps of the capitol with music, coffee and doughnuts.
Throughout the day, participants will meet with state legislators, mingle with the mascots, view university exhibits in the first-floor galleria, play trivia, listen to musical performances and celebrate with cupcakes.
