President talks about his first year in fall launch of 'UO Today'

In this academic year’s opening episode of campus talk show "UO Today," UO President Michael Schill reflects on his first year and discusses some of his priorities and the challenges he’ll face in the year ahead.

“I’ve very much enjoyed being part of the community and watching the community come together around a set of core objectives: increasing academic quality and research quality, increasing our efforts with student success and, lastly, increasing our diversity,” Schill said in the episode that was published Oct. 3.

In his preview of the coming year, Schill touches on plans for academic excellence and faculty hiring, administrative efforts to curb tuition and initiatives that will increase diversity and address the recommendations of the Black Student Task Force.
