The north half of 13th Avenue and the sidewalk on the street's north side will be closed between Fenton and Friendly halls beginning Thursday (July 11) and continuing for about a month, as a fire line extension project gets underway.
Users of Fenton, Friendly, Johnson and Chapman halls are expected to be the most affected by the project. The project manager from UO Campus Operations expects periods of loud construction noise.
The affected area is in the portion of 13th Avenue that is normally closed to routine traffic. It will remain open for delivery and emergency vehicles.
Pedestrians will be routed around the closure.
