The Rose City Comic Con is returning to Portland for a fourth year this September, and the UO is making its debut as one of the event’s sponsors.
That means UO alumni, students, faculty and staff can get in on the cheap thanks to a 20 percent discount on tickets. Full-price tickets range from $20 to $40 for the two-day event.
To claim the discount, purchase tickets by clicking here, or use the promotional code UOALUMNI2015 on the convention’s online ticket site. Tickets must be purchased by July 31 to earn the discount.
The Rose City Comic Con runs Sept. 19-20 at the Oregon Convention Center. This is the fourth year the convention has been held in Portland.
Although the Rose City event is more focused on comic books and comic artists than some conventions, it also pays homage to pop culture, sci-fi, fantasy and other genres. Among a long list of special guests and artists are Wil Wheaton, known for his roles in “Star Trek: Next Generation” and “The Big Bang Theory,” and Ryan Ottley, the artist of the “Invincible” comic books who’s also drawn for “The Amazing Spider Man,” “The Flash” and “The Walking Dead.”
