The Division of Equity and Inclusion is hosting a summit on May 2 focused on ongoing university efforts to enhance climate and culture at the University of Oregon. The event is titled “Amplifying Actions: A Summit on Our IDEAL Climate.” The summit will include a lunch and panel discussions that highlight the work that is being led by deans, vice presidents, vice provosts, directors, faculty, staff and graduate student employees.
The focus of the summit is to share information about the progress and challenges the campus is facing as the university works to enhance organizational climate and culture at the University of Oregon.
Vice President for Equity and Inclusion Yvette Alex-Assensoh says the summit will encourage colleagues across campus who are working on similar efforts to share information in ways that lighten the workload and enhance the final tool or process that is being developed.
The summit is an extension of engagements with deans, vice provosts, vice presidents and their leadership teams to focus on campus culture and climate, which included two leadership workshops over the last year and the Campus Forum on Belonging in fall.
"To be a flourishing community, we need to continue our efforts to enhance equity, inclusion and belonging,” President Karl Scholz said. “This is an opportunity to connect and learn from each other as well as celebrate the valuable work happening across campus.”
The summit will also provide an opportunity for members of our broader university community to listen, learn and take useful information back to their home departments.
The summit consists of a plenary luncheon, concurrent panels and a closing reception. It will be held on Thursday, May 2, noon to 4 p.m. in the Erb Memorial Union. Participants must register for each event using a separate link. Registration is open through April 26. Additional information about the event, panel discussions and sign up is available on MyTrack.
