Spring family weekend includes art, music, sports and cultural activities

More than 150 families of UO students are expected to participate in Spring Family Weekend activities May 2 to May 4.

“The Parent and Family Programs staff is really excited to welcome families from around the country to Eugene this weekend,” said Erika Swanson, director of Parent and Family Programs.

Participants are registered from 12 states -- Arizona, Washington, California, Oregon, Montana, Texas, Colorado, Idaho, Utah, New York, Nevada and Hawaii.

With the hope of dry weather, many activities are outdoors on campus and in the community including several Oregon Athletics events, a 5K and 5 mile run and even a Bacon Fest downtown. A full schedule of events is here.

“Families and their students will have the opportunity to cheer on the Ducks and celebrate our mothers during a very vibrant spring time on campus,” said Swanson.

On Sunday, Karol Gottfredson is hosting a brunch to celebrate moms a week ahead of Mother’s Day.
