An international track and field meet will take place at Hayward Field Aug. 5-9, but street and parking lot closures will start July 27.
The World Athletics U20 Championships Oregon 26 brings athletes under the age of 19, their families and fans to the city and region for the competition.
The event brings closures that may affect employee parking access and driving and walking routes between now and Aug. 12.
Agate Street will close July 27-Aug. 12 from East 15th Avenue to East 18th Avenue. The closure will extend to East 13th Avenue between Aug. 1-10.
East 15th Avenue will close between Moss Street and Agate Street Aug. 1-10. Accessible parking sites and the athlete shuttle stop will also be on 15th Avenue.
East 17th Avenue will close from Columbia Alley to Agate Street July 27-Aug. 12.
Parking Lot 38 will be closed to permit holders July 27-Aug. 12 and Lot 34E will be closed Aug. 3-9.
Athletes will stay in the residence halls, but these will be closed to the public including the Unthank and Carson dining halls from Aug. 1-10.
Refer to the Transportation Services parking webpage for details on lot closures as it may change until the meet starts.
Portions of Columbia Street may also close temporarily during the East Campus Housing/Next Generation Residence Halls project.
