One of three initial candidates to be the UO’s associate vice president and Title IX coordinator has withdrawn from consideration.

That leaves two candidates still in the running. Both have already visited campus; background material on the two is available here.

The new associate vice president will lead the university’s campuswide effort to reduce sexual assault and ensure institutional accountability in responding to reported concerns and complaints. The person in the position will have primary responsibility for coordinating effective efforts in compliance with Title IX, the federal law on equal access to education opportunities.

The search committee is chaired by Kathie Stanley, associate vice president and chief of staff for student life. Members of the committee include Penny Daugherty, director of the department of affirmative action; David Espinoza, testing center director for the University Counseling and Testing Center;  Ibrahim Gassama, professor of law; Krista Chronister, associate professor of counseling psychology; Sheryl Eyster, associate dean of students; Missy Matella, assistant general counsel; and Sandy Weintraub, director of student conduct and community standards.
