Traffic caution urged in campus area

A busy week of traffic and parking around the University of Oregon campus begins today. Parents, friends, track and field fans and other visitors will increase the number of people in the area and extra caution is advised for campus and the neighboring areas.

Annual move-out from the UO residence halls is June 9 to June 13; the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be at Hayward Field June 11 to June 14; and UO Commencement is Monday, June 16. UO faculty and staff should be aware of increased vehicle and pedestrian traffic around the residence halls and Hayward Field facility.

Changes to traffic patterns include:

  • From June 9 to June 13, bike lanes on Agate Street between 13th and 15th avenues will be closed for vehicle loading use.
  • From June 11 to June 13, 15th Avenue between Agate and University streets will be one-way heading west and the metered parking will be reserved for move-out.
  • On June 16, 13th Avenue from University Street to Franklin Boulevard will be closed for a graduation procession, between about 8:30 a.m.to 9:15 a.m.

To reduce congestion, alternative transportation (buses, bikes, walking, etc.) to campus is encouraged.

Maps for move-out are available here. University parking maps and information are at Office of Parking and Transportation.
