UO employees can score specially priced tickets to next week’s international track meet courtesy of a special deal from the university.
From now through July 21, UO employees and their families can buy general admission tickets to the IAAF World Junior Championships for $5 each. The offer allows up to eight tickets per person.
Some 1,600 athletes from almost 200 countries will converge on campus for one of the largest international track meets on the calendar. Athletes, including a number who plan to attend the UO, will compete at Hayward Field over six days of track and field events.
The meet marks the first time the IAAF has held the championship on American soil. It begins July 22 and runs through July 27.
To purchase tickets at the special price, go to Oregon14.com/tickets and enter the ticket code UODiscount.
“The University of Oregon understands the value and impact of contributing to and strengthening the global community,” Vice Provost for International Affairs Dennis Galvan said in a letter announcing the discount. “We share your values and hope you’ll bring your children, family and friends to experience this international event at historic Hayward Field.”
